            First off, on page 205, Nikki says, “Showering was a luxury that myself, Mick and Tommy normally regarded as a nuisance, not a perk.” I know it had mentioned that hygiene is the first to go but six days and in other spots Nikki says over a week, I could not even imagine. Especially with their life style and going around sleeping with who knows how many random people, I honestly could not even image what they actually smelled like or who would sleep with them having all those other “smells” on them. Well, maybe I could, I guess if they took enough drugs and drank enough that maybe the smells wouldn’t matter because they did not notice? Not sure about that though.

            On another note, I am astonished that someone was actually trying to sue Motley Crue because he lost his hearing after going to one of their concerts. On page 220, Nikki says, “we’re getting sued by some fucker who said he lost his hearing at our concert a while back.” Now, is this guy for real? It mentioned from a while back, why would the guy not bring it up right when he apparently lost his hearing and why go to a concert like the ones they throw, a rock concert at that. What did the dude expect, soft mellow violin music that floated through the crowd ever so lightly as if it was being whispered heavenly in everyone ears? Come on now.

Anyways, on a more serious view, on page 299 Nikki wrote, “P.S. I should be the happiest man in the world.” Just reading those words, you know there is something deep inside a person that is extremely unhappy. I feel just because you may think you have everything you ever wanted that that does not mean you are literally going to be happy. A lot of people hide themselves in order to pretend to smile and living the life of a rock ‘n’ rock individual could be beyond stressful, beyond lonely (even though surrounded by people all the time), and beyond out of control (in metal status). Depression is a very serious disease and Nikki sure had it bad.

Throughout this reading, while Nikki writes in his journal, he talks about how he hates being on the road or on tour, and cannot wait to be back at home. Then when he is at home he is good for a short period, going back to how he hates being home and cannot wait to get back out there on the road. I think he was very confused most of the time along with his depression and there was just no one to help guide him in any direction, so he made his own directions. Which as we can see were very distrustful ones, physically and mentally.

Last thing, I just wanted to get my feelings out there about their use to be manager Doc Mcghee and that is that he is a big old douche bag. Just saying.

While reading the “The Heroin Diaries,” I can feel the hurt and pain that Nikki is feeling/going through. Never reading a graphic novel before, this novel has graphics are very prominent. The pictures give off very strong emotion to what was happening to Nikki at certain points in his life. I really believe that drugs and addiction is already an epidemic here in the United States, and that more people should open their ears and listen, rather than judging.

One thing that I had noticed that most people would think was maybe a little crazy, was his place where he felt most safe when he was on a trip, his bedroom closet. On page 19 Nikki says, “I would huddle in there, surrounded by drug paraphernalia and guns.” I do not know about anybody else but I would definitely feel safe if I had a gun to protect me. Now, maybe not the greatest idea for him while he is tripping, but I am guessing that is how he was thinking of it.

            Also, on page 30, Nikki says, “Only the dumb of the dumb would do it again. I don’t get sick from it now – I get sick if I don’t do it.” Since he had started doing more drugs since he started in with the band, drugs are now not just for fun or to get high, they are now a need, not a want. There are a lot of people that do not actually understand how drugs have an effect on a person’s brain. Therefore, I think people should know fully about something before judging others.

            Overall, my thoughts are that Light Yagami is mostly psychopath, and I say mostly because he actually does care about his family. So, my guessing would be that Light is 90 percent psychopath and 10 percent of what most people would see as actually caring for others, and not just himself, his family. Since the beginning, even Ryuk said, “No one’s ever done this many in just five days,” on page nine-teen. This statement alone shows that Light is different from all the others, and not in a good conscience kind of way either. Ever since Light had started writing in the death note, he was adamite to kill whoever knew any form of evidence to point towards Light being Kira, then killing them at any opportunity he could. Not mattering if they were an actual criminal or not. Additionally, since the ending of this book does not have a conclusion ending, my mind is still wanting to know what will happen next. As I have said in a previous blog, I cannot stand not knowing what will happen next, whether from a book novel, short story, or just a saying in general. Therefore, I still want to know what is going to happen next in the story, even though all my thoughts are pointing towards Light getting caught and going to jail. Though, one will actually never know an ending until actually reading it, yet still one could think of many other outcomes that could have come into play. Thus, having the mind go every which way that it possibly can go, which means the story could have endless amounts of outcomes.

           So, I am not going to lie because that is one thing I literally hate, and honesty is always the way to go anyways. But, I am not really into this book that much, though it is at least interesting enough for me to still read and pay attention to it. Plus, what helps me is that I have to know the ending, and not just to books everything, even a sentence. Kind of like the episode from The Big Bang Theory, where Amy tries help Sheldon with not having to finish things, (which is one of my favorite episodes). Anyways, more about the story and less about me.

            Well, I feel as if I was right in thinking that Light is bad as I had thought, maybe even a little more than I had thought. With the pictures in the panels, Lights faces are definitely showing how much he actually gets out of having the power, the god complex. I found it interesting that on page 292 that Light gives the meaning of his name, he says, “I’m Light Yagami. You write the kanji for ‘Moon’ and read it light, unusual, isn’t it? And Yagami is written with the kanji for ‘Night and God’.” Which when you put them all together it has the name of Moon Night God, interesting right? As for how light acts in the book, the meaning of the name really fits to how he is literally acting in the book. Plus, when I think of moon and night, I think of obviously more dark, sinister and mysterious. Something to think about maybe, I know I have.      

            Now, I have finally been introduced to L, and I can tell you that I was really surprised after reading/seeing how he was in person. I did not expect that at all, he kind of reminds me of a three-year-old, by the looks of the panels that L is in. I keep imagining him to be kind of scattered, absent minded, and just quite odd or awkward. Though, a very intellect three-year-old. I can see him fidgeting a lot and getting side tracked with things easily. Figure 1 shows how L/Ryuzaki gives off an impression of childish behavior, and an impression of being akward.

Furthermore, this could be the reason why he is so smart, and can solve all of the harder cases that the NPA cannot solve themselves. Maybe the fact that he was considered awkward growing up, that he just started to mess around the computer all the time or just study anything and everything he could because he did not want to interact with people, just a thought. So, I do not start rambling about nothing, I can see that it is getting a little long, so this is where I will end it, for now.
